January 2017 Wish list!Β

Hello everyone! πŸ’•

While these feel a little more casual, I love doing these wish lists and sharing exciting products I would like to purchase. I also love to hear what is on their peoples wish lists, I think it’s so interesting and I’ll go and watch YouTubers wish lists (which eventually leads to hauls) I just get so into all of it. Also, talking about these things or writing them down kind if makes me feel like I’m writing in a diary or talking with a girlfriend and it’s fun!
#1 Holographic nail powder- I’ve wanted holo nails for the longest time, and I watched @HeyParis’s video on how to do it at home, so I went out and searched the internet for the sparkly fairy dust for a reasonable price!

#2 Jelliez lip plumping mask- I already love my lips, but recently I’ve just been curious about all of these lip plumping products and how I would look with a semi-permanent pout, so I want to give this one in particular a try. I searched for different YouTube and Instagram videos, and this one came up the most showing results😊

#3 The Neutrogena Acne Light Mask- I first saw this in a commercial (duh, marketing doing it’s job and apparently nicely if I want it!) I was intrigued by the masks appearance and the neon glow from within. That glo is actually the treatment which you use about 10-15 minutes per session daily to help reduce acne and get rid of dark spots.

I do struggle with acne and right now I am really into skincare which I could probably do a whole post about different products and finding what’s right for your skin, and reminding young tweens like I was at one point that just covering the acne with makeup doesn’t make it go away!

#4 Nano portable hydrating mister- I first saw this on Instagram and have just become obsessed with this little gadget. It is more for dry skin I would think, but I am sure you could use it with oily skin if you just use water, and  I do have combo skin and you could even just fill it with water and spritz it everywhere if it’s hot out, or I could also see this being really great for airplane travel because your skin and everything can get SO DRY on a plane due to the lack of moisture in the air.

That’s everything on my list for now! Which product interested you the most, and what’s on your wish list this month?  Let me know in the comments! 😘

❀ Chic Couture β€

Let me tell you guys about a super cute clothing brand called Chic Couture! Already a sweet name, right? Well if you take a look at their website, they have even sweeter clothes and deals that are perfect for everyday, or that special day coming up- Valentine’s Day! β€πŸ’•

Keep reading until the end for a fab deal!

The first piece I wanted to show you is what really drew me into the brand, this luxurious velvet dress 😍 it comes in pink or red and just screams glam. It’s prefect for a night out, special occasions, or just everyday wear for hanging out and looking chic! I would pair this look with a cute diamond choker and thigh high boots, or cute, fluffy sandals. Of course, if heels are not your thing plain or sparkly flats would look just as sweet. For the colder season a cute faux fur jacket or simple cardigan would pair nicely with these. Or, for a bit of an edge you could wear a black leather jacket over with some booties. πŸ’• These lovely dresses are $32 each and along with everything else, can be found in the link to the shop below!

The next item is this sexy, dramatic high-low top for $20. This stylish too can be worn with shorts as shown and again, I would pair it with thigh high boots, or nice jeans with any shoe of choice and some delicate jewelry. The look is great for all ages and would look flattering on anyone! You could go so many different directions with this look, you could belt it at the middle to accentuate your waist, or leave it loose and free with some skinny jeans for a more casual look.

The final item which is great for January/February is this adorable beanie! I purchased this item a year or so ago and it is so comfy and soft. I love the little touch of suede with their signature C.C. on the brim. Whether your style is girly and glam, or nice and casual this accessory is a staple for your wardrobe especially in the cold months. (I know it isn’t cold EVERYWHERE right now, but it can stay chilly for awhile throughout the next few months, even transitioning into the springtime.) πŸ’• Style tip? or more of a fun fact about Stylshorty, I love to wear beanies at night because it just adds to warmth and coziness when I want to be all comfy- these are prefect for itπŸ’• Thought they couldn’t get any cuter? Me too, until I saw time with wait for it….fur pom poms! Anyone who knows me knows that I am on love with the faux fur trend right now and these just add to the major cuteness factor of these hats! They are $15 without the pom pom and $20 with!

πŸ’Ž Jewelry Haul! πŸ’Ž

Hey everyone! Today I wanted to show you a small jewelry haul featuring some of my favorite pieces! I am a jewelry girl, I have always been ever since I was little and I love anything that sparkles and shines! πŸ’ŽπŸ’–

This first piece is a bit pricier, but I bought it for myself as a birthday gift from the Swarovski outlet. I had been wanting this necklace for ages ever since I had seen it on Gabi DeMartino in her tattoo vlog. I searched forever to find it online, I didn’t see it in stores or anything but when I finally went to the outlets and found it, you can imagine my excitement 😊 It’s very simple, just a small round cyrstal on a thin chain. I wear this aost daily and I love it! The stone rests prefectly just below my neck, almost tight enough to be a choker but not quite which is what i loved about it for this necklace because of its simplicity. The price was around $100, possibly more. Honestly I was so excited to get it I don’t quote remember the price but it was definitely between $100-$120

These next two rings are from Nordstrom Rack and they are by the brand Covet. They are super pretty, the first one is like a big cocktail ring, it almost reminded me of something Kim Kardashian would wear, who is a big idol to Amber Scholl who I actually got the inspiration from for a lot of my jewelry. I love her style and all the bling! What girl doesn’t? The next ring is just a diamond band, a bit thicker but it is super cute and more wearable than the first ring with the bigger stone. You could wear this one with a lot more outfits just to have a little bit of bling to your look of the day. They were both about $18 and unfortunately they did not have my exact size (5.5) but I know a few tricks that I will talk about in another post to make them fit!

Another ring I have that I wear daily is my promise ring from my amazing boyfriend πŸ’• it is adorable and from Pandora, he bought it for me for Valentine’s day last year and I’ve never taken it off! Pandora was lovely to us when we went to go pick it up in the store Valentine’s Day weekend and they also provided me with a cleaning cloth to use if I see it’s getting a bit dirty. Of course, you could use any ring cleaner as well and it comes out dazzling! It is very sweet and elegant, I believe it is called the Classic Elegance ring and was around $100. I wear it daily and it goes with really all my outfits. It has a beautiful center stone with a small halo surrounding it and obviously makes me really happy because it has sentimental value, but also because it truly is one of my favorite pieces I have from someone I love ❀

This choker is from Rue 21 and I found it at one of my local malls for just $6. I was so happy, as I thought it was $12 (which is a fine price) and then when I went to go check out it was on sale! Such a happy feeling 😁 Rue 21 has a lot of great jewelry for low prices. Back to the necklace, it has been so hard for me to find a choker like this for a lower price. It is gorgeous with diamonds all around and the metal is rose gold! So pretty! I haven’t even seen any other chokers like this with rose gold, most are gold or silver which are pretty too but the color really stood out to me. It fits nicely and it’s pretty comfortable for a choker.

The final ring I am going to show you guys is again a halo style ring but in a square cut. I picked this one up from Icing which has a lot of great jewelry in this really fun, blingy, sparkly style as well. They have one se tion with “wedding rings” which are just little fun costume rings that you could either play pretend with if you’re younger or just use as dailywear like I do πŸ˜‰ It’s cute, similar to my other rings but still unique and I believe this ring was around $10-$15. Not a bad price 😊
I hope you all enjoyed this haul, I had a lot of fun making it and being able to show you guys what I love accessory wise πŸ’• leave a comment below and tell me what you love to use to pull your outfit together or add a little sparkle to your style! πŸ’ŽπŸ˜˜

Live Shopping Videos!

As many of you know, Instagram has a live video feature. Well, because I spend so much time shopping often I want to be able to share it with people so I’ve started live videoing my little shopping trios including online shopping adventures and my wish lists or shopping carts for clothes, sales, and lots of great deals. Whenever there is a new sale going on or deal I will try my best to alert you guys and we can just chat and show each other what we’ve been looking at! I would love to see other beauty and fashion gurus participate as well. πŸ’• Follow my Instagram to find out more: @styleshawty

My Parisian Pastels πŸ’•

image

Look at gow cute the packaging is too! When I was younger, my grandma would hace used makeup tins or packaging that she had kept and I always thought they were pretty when I was little, this kind of reminded me of that. πŸ’• I have been on the hunt for a nice, light palette for Spring and I finally found it! I love palettes that give you a lot of options, but I wanted something amazing for Spring time that just seemed light and fresh and sweet! The Lancome My Parisian Pastels Palette is absolutely wonderful! The colors are just what I wanted and the pigmentation is not too strong, but can easily be built up for a really bold look if you wanted. I haven’t been this excited about a makeup product in a long time πŸ’•

Quality over Quantity?

(DISCLAIMER! Somewhat of a RANT)

I am currently not in the position to spend $50-$100 on an eye shadow palette. If you are, great that’s amazing and you are very blessed, but it’s very frustrating as a person who was brought up learning that quality products or clothes or materials are nicer and really pay off. I do understand that there are brands that are less expensive that have nice products, but it is so hard to see everyone stocking up on their Too Faced Palettes or shopping at Urban Outfitters 24/7. I am not trashing these brands, I love them but I honestly it’s annoying to see that I would have to spend so much for something that might not even last me up to 3-5 years, due to size or an expiration date on makeup, or it going bad. I do try to keep in mind that it isn’t a crime to want nice things, but sometimes those things can’t always be your #1 priority in life and they have to be somewhat of a treat if possible. Money can be a tricky thing and I’m doing best to learn about, budget it, and work for it while still being able as a person who loves fashion, beauty, and presentation to have the things I love. I will be trying as I do, to post more often and find stores, brands, products, etc. that are more affordable and maybe do a master post for everyone to find nice things while on a budget/trying to save. πŸ’• No hate at all, just thoughts and trying to help others on the same position as me. πŸ’•

Breakfast at Styleshorty’s!

In an attempt to follow in the footsteps of the ever so glamorous Audrey Hepburn, through her role in Breakfast at Tiffany’s I have attempted my very own breakfast of a chocolate pastry,

tea, and instead of peering into the Tiffany & Co. Windows in the AM, I am longingly looking at a beautiful necklace on their website, which I intend to put on my Christmas list!

How to get rid of leftover lip stain!

image

So you’ve just come home from a night out, or maybe you’ve just been out all day testing out MAC’s brand new lipsticks at the mall, when you get home, look in the mirror and it looks like you’ve been eating berries all day! Instead of scrubbing off the excess lipstain and making your lips all chapped/dry afterwards, here us a quick way to get rid of that “I just made out with a clown” look!
You will need:
Β° A warm wash cloth
Β° Petroleum Jelly

image

Step 1
Put a light coat if the petroleum jelly onto your lips

Step 2
Get the wash cloth wet with warm – hot water and gently go over your lips. The lipstain or lipstick should come off quickly!

Step 3
Apply a touch more jelly after you’ve finished, or your favorite ChapStick for gorgeous, kissable lips! πŸ˜ŠπŸ’‹
