Happy Skin!Β

Hi there beauties! (Quick intro) In one of my previous posts, I mentioned sticking to a skincare routine. Skin care is so important, it is the very first step to a great makeup look! Your makeup starts, before the actual foundation, or even the primer. With that being said, I do have a special post coming up featuring some new Mary Kay skincare products along with some other exciting Mary Kay treats that I know you guys will adore.
I wanted to talk about skincare a bit more, but also about learning to love your skin even if it isn’t flawless naturally. I have combination skin, and what that means is that some places of my face are more acne prone, and I have dry patches in other parts of my face-mainly my cheeks. You could see how this can be very frustrating. However, part of learning to love your skin is to just accept it. You can use a lot of products to help whatever skin type you have, but you must be dedicated to giving your skin whatever love it needs. I’ve learned to accept my skin type as combination skin, and I’m figuring out how to take care of it from the inside out. But it’s up to you with YOUR skin to figure out what it needs. Vitamins? Night cream? Medication? It’s up to you to figure it out and help it along. Also, keep in mind to try and stay positive about the whole process to happy skin. Did you know that stress can cause horrible breakouts? It’s something to keep in mind so you don’t get into a cycle of stressing out and breaking out.

My favorite thing to both avoid the stress and take care of my skin? Do a relaxing, hot bath and a face mask. How do you relax and take care of your skin? 😘

❀ Chic Couture β€

Let me tell you guys about a super cute clothing brand called Chic Couture! Already a sweet name, right? Well if you take a look at their website, they have even sweeter clothes and deals that are perfect for everyday, or that special day coming up- Valentine’s Day! β€πŸ’•

Keep reading until the end for a fab deal!

The first piece I wanted to show you is what really drew me into the brand, this luxurious velvet dress 😍 it comes in pink or red and just screams glam. It’s prefect for a night out, special occasions, or just everyday wear for hanging out and looking chic! I would pair this look with a cute diamond choker and thigh high boots, or cute, fluffy sandals. Of course, if heels are not your thing plain or sparkly flats would look just as sweet. For the colder season a cute faux fur jacket or simple cardigan would pair nicely with these. Or, for a bit of an edge you could wear a black leather jacket over with some booties. πŸ’• These lovely dresses are $32 each and along with everything else, can be found in the link to the shop below!

The next item is this sexy, dramatic high-low top for $20. This stylish too can be worn with shorts as shown and again, I would pair it with thigh high boots, or nice jeans with any shoe of choice and some delicate jewelry. The look is great for all ages and would look flattering on anyone! You could go so many different directions with this look, you could belt it at the middle to accentuate your waist, or leave it loose and free with some skinny jeans for a more casual look.

The final item which is great for January/February is this adorable beanie! I purchased this item a year or so ago and it is so comfy and soft. I love the little touch of suede with their signature C.C. on the brim. Whether your style is girly and glam, or nice and casual this accessory is a staple for your wardrobe especially in the cold months. (I know it isn’t cold EVERYWHERE right now, but it can stay chilly for awhile throughout the next few months, even transitioning into the springtime.) πŸ’• Style tip? or more of a fun fact about Stylshorty, I love to wear beanies at night because it just adds to warmth and coziness when I want to be all comfy- these are prefect for itπŸ’• Thought they couldn’t get any cuter? Me too, until I saw time with wait for it….fur pom poms! Anyone who knows me knows that I am on love with the faux fur trend right now and these just add to the major cuteness factor of these hats! They are $15 without the pom pom and $20 with!

But wait! Want to look save money while you’re looking stylish and chic?! How to Look Cute at the Gym!

Recently I have seen a lot of posts and articles stating that you, “do not need to look good for the gym”, or “it’s a workout, not a fashion show!”. This fashion blogger disagrees! What could be more fun than getting an awesome, butt-toning or ab workout on while and looking super cute at the same time? You can look cute and comfy as you burn calories, by wearing sports bras, leggings which come in a variety of colors and patterns, different tanks, sweats, and cute workout shirts and shorts as well. Here are some of my workout clothes:

A basic example of what I like to wear as I sweat it out. I am someone who is very confident in my body, so I enjoy wearing sports bras as I workout!

And here is my still small, but growing collection of various sports bras! If it’s chilly out, or I’m going to the store after I throw on a tank top or sweatshirt and I’m good to go!

Tell me in the comments, what’s your favorite workout outfit? 😊

What Did I Get for Christmas? πŸŽ„

Even thought Christmas is not really about what you receive, it is fun to share. Here is a list of what I’ve been so lucky to receive, and let me know in the comments what you guys got! 😊

My good friend made this mug for me β˜•

I received a lovely purple sports bra along with cute, matching leggings! (I will be doing a post on stylish sportswear! Soon)

This adorable Pandora bracelet from my boyfriend 😊❀
And finally, another bracelet that I had been asking for the Count Me Healthy bracelet, which can help you count various things such as golf strokes if you are a golfer like myself, it can also count water or snack intake, or whatever you choose to keep track of 😊 I selected the color rose gold for myself ❀

You Are What You Wear

Dress like you’ve made something of yourself in the world, even if you haven’t

Studies have shown that the enviroment you surround yourself with inflicts your mood. So, for example, if you are wearing super bubbly, bright, and fun colors, than you are most likely happier or somewhat more approachable. If you dress yourself in dark hues of black, gray, and darker nuetrals you could be giving off the impression that you are depressed, unnaproachable, moody, or in some cases powerful. Your “look” and persona are 50% Outfit 50% Attitude. If you’re wearing something like a black powersuit with cute pumps, you could give off the impression that you are stylish, in a position of power, and chic. However if you are wearing said powersuit and are slumping your shoulders, you have a look of disinterest, and you’re scarfing a twinkie, then people may have a different idea of you. It’s all you babe.

A quick word & apology β€

Life gets very busy and can be very stressful, as everyone knows and recently with the pressures of Christmas and the holidays along with school in general, I have not had a lot of time to take photos or post as often as I would like. I would like to apologize, as a writer I intend to be as diligent as I can with creating content I know you guys will love, and I would rather put in more time and effort for a great post, than give readers a hardly finished post. I am sorry and I will work harder putting more on here not only for readers, but for myself as I do enjoy it! 😊❀
