Girls Trip for Girls Night!Β

My best friend and I went out last night to the movies! We just decided very lastonite to go See Girls Trip, and I have never laughed that hard on the movie theater! It was funny, I think everyone should go check it out and it’s a great movie to go see with your besties 😁

Here are a few photos from the fun evening we had:

Soooo we got a new car! Haha we wish…We got to sit in this cool car from a neighbor of my grandma’s! They were really sweet and it was nice of them to let us do it.

Next, we picked put our movie- Girls Trip and headed to the theater! Here are our outfits:

I had on a cute all denim shirt-dress that I got a great deal on at a garage sale we went to earlier. I’d love to do a post on thrifting and good deals with clothing, because I’ve found some of my best pieces on my closet at thrift stores or garage sales! ❀ I paired it with my classic white converse and also brought along my little Prada backpack πŸ’•

And my bestie, Chantel had on a cute graphic tee with a patterned skirt, tights, and black heels!

A Healthy Breakfast! πŸ’•

I know that this blog is mainly about fashion, beauty, and style but I thought I would share this really yummy breakfast and how to make it with you guys! πŸ’• I’m really into health and finding yummy, healthy recipes so if I continue to post these a majority of them will be healthy 😊

This is what is looks like, I did whole wheat waffles with almond butter, a little bit of a raspberry sauce/smoothie that I had already made, and some coconut on top of one of them- just to try it out. It was so good! The coconut was really yummy. It all basically just tasted like a better version of PB&J on waffles. I also added bananas on the sides as you can see, and I even put some on the waffles which made everything even more delicious.

I don’t have a photo of my smoothie, but all I did was blend together some raspberries (frozen) and coconut water. It’s so easy, and really yummy especially if you are a raspberry lover like meπŸ’•

What’s your favorite breakfast? Let me know in the comments below! πŸ’•β€

Room Tour

I just wanted to do a quick little room tour, showing some highlights and favorite points of my pink, girly room!

DSCN0760.JPG

This is just my laptop, phone, and diary. I am always using one of these three with writing, texting, or just having fun and maybe shopping online! My bed is so fluffy and comfy, but my headboard is not completed yet (we are going to paint it using white paint to match everything else) so, I wanted to wait on showing all of the bed.

DSCN0765

So, as you can tell already, my walls are a very light, soft pink. I absolutely adore this color and think it’s so pretty and feminine. These are my angel wings. They are right over my bed, and they were my first big art/decor purchase when I turned 16. I love angels, and I remember I fell in love with them from a little boutique downtown. They instantly reminded me of Baz Luhrmann’s 1996 version of Romeo+Juliet, because of her angel wings in the movie, as well as Juliet’s room.

DSCN0756

This is my closet, the view from my bed and I have my favorite, dreamy tulle dress from Tobi hanging up and my corsages from my Senior Homecoming and Prom! I also have my little version of a dream board next to the door. There are pictures of my dream car (a baby blue, convertible VW) my dream purse (the new White LV Damier Azur Rose Ballerine Neverfull MM- with a cute pink pom pom on the side!) and finally, my dream vacation in the City of Love, Paris! I look at all of these daily to encourage and inspire myself with my dreams, and it gives me a little bit more inspiration to keep working hard towards them. Plus, the colors go great with my room!

DSCN0767

The last stop along my room tour will be my romantic vanity, accompanied by my amazing Ghost chair, and my super sparkly pillow! All of these have been gifted to me, the chair and pillow my Mom found (she’s an interior designer and always finds incredible pieces) and the vanity from my Aunt and Uncle. I love sitting here in the mornings. A vanity is a great way to encourage yourself to get ready in the mornings, because it’s exciting to actually use it and sit at it with all of your makeup, and the pretty mirror and everything.

I hope everyone enjoyed my room points of view, does your room have a theme? Do you have special pieces, or are you looking for something in particular? Let me know in the comments below! ❀

Cleaning Brushes

It was cleaning day today! I cannot stress enough how important it is to clean. your. brushes!!! You must clean your makeup brushes, because they carry so much old makeup, dirt, and bacteria. That’s all horrible for both your application and skin.

The process is easy:

1. Heat up the water in your sink

2. Grab a brush and start scrubbing it clean with warm water and whatever shampoo you use

I use this kind:

It doesn’t matter what kind you use, and you don’t need a fancy cleaner that costs $40 to clean your makeup brushes. Just shampoo and scrub them by hand, and you’ll be all good! (I’ve also seen those brush cleaning machines, and not one review has recommended it).

3. Lay each brush out to dry. This can take a few hours, up to a whole day, but it is completely worth it to have nice, soft, clean brushes 😁

My final result for the night posted above, and I also cleaned out the two containers I use to hold all of my brushes. I don’t want any of that dirt coming back too soon. (I love my adorable “C” mug!) You should also be doing this every two weeks. Just try your best! πŸ’• How often do you wash your brushes? Have you found any products you specifically like to use, or different techniques? Let me know in the comments below! πŸ’•

Pic #2: Necklace is again from a downtown boutique!- make sure to support your local businesses loves πŸ’• and the top is from Zaful πŸ’•

Pic #3: Just some basic black jeans that I have, any kind would work for this look and my boots are by Vera Wang! πŸ’•

Happy Skin!Β

Hi there beauties! (Quick intro) In one of my previous posts, I mentioned sticking to a skincare routine. Skin care is so important, it is the very first step to a great makeup look! Your makeup starts, before the actual foundation, or even the primer. With that being said, I do have a special post coming up featuring some new Mary Kay skincare products along with some other exciting Mary Kay treats that I know you guys will adore.
I wanted to talk about skincare a bit more, but also about learning to love your skin even if it isn’t flawless naturally. I have combination skin, and what that means is that some places of my face are more acne prone, and I have dry patches in other parts of my face-mainly my cheeks. You could see how this can be very frustrating. However, part of learning to love your skin is to just accept it. You can use a lot of products to help whatever skin type you have, but you must be dedicated to giving your skin whatever love it needs. I’ve learned to accept my skin type as combination skin, and I’m figuring out how to take care of it from the inside out. But it’s up to you with YOUR skin to figure out what it needs. Vitamins? Night cream? Medication? It’s up to you to figure it out and help it along. Also, keep in mind to try and stay positive about the whole process to happy skin. Did you know that stress can cause horrible breakouts? It’s something to keep in mind so you don’t get into a cycle of stressing out and breaking out.

My favorite thing to both avoid the stress and take care of my skin? Do a relaxing, hot bath and a face mask. How do you relax and take care of your skin? 😘

Goals for this blog πŸ’•

Hi guys!

This is going to be a bit more of a note for everyone to understand why a post might be late and what I’ve learned from it. Basically, I could be collaborating on a post with a company. Whether it’s inspired by them, or doing something specifically with them. However, sometimes the company might not follow through on what they’re saying or their might be a reason as to why I have to delay the post with the company. What I’ve learned from this is to always have a backup post idea, or something already started! It can be hard because I do look forward a lot to sharing my ideas and inspirations with everyone, but sometimes it just doesn’t happen the way you want it to. My goal is to create content that will be able to share and express my love of beauty and fashion, and hopefully inspire others and help them as well if they want to learn more about it. I’m going to keep my goal and backup plan in mind when planning everything out, and remember that those and having fun with this blog are my number one priorities! β€πŸ’• New posts coming soon just for you πŸ’•

January 2017 Wish list!Β

Hello everyone! πŸ’•

While these feel a little more casual, I love doing these wish lists and sharing exciting products I would like to purchase. I also love to hear what is on their peoples wish lists, I think it’s so interesting and I’ll go and watch YouTubers wish lists (which eventually leads to hauls) I just get so into all of it. Also, talking about these things or writing them down kind if makes me feel like I’m writing in a diary or talking with a girlfriend and it’s fun!
#1 Holographic nail powder- I’ve wanted holo nails for the longest time, and I watched @HeyParis’s video on how to do it at home, so I went out and searched the internet for the sparkly fairy dust for a reasonable price!

#2 Jelliez lip plumping mask- I already love my lips, but recently I’ve just been curious about all of these lip plumping products and how I would look with a semi-permanent pout, so I want to give this one in particular a try. I searched for different YouTube and Instagram videos, and this one came up the most showing results😊

#3 The Neutrogena Acne Light Mask- I first saw this in a commercial (duh, marketing doing it’s job and apparently nicely if I want it!) I was intrigued by the masks appearance and the neon glow from within. That glo is actually the treatment which you use about 10-15 minutes per session daily to help reduce acne and get rid of dark spots.

I do struggle with acne and right now I am really into skincare which I could probably do a whole post about different products and finding what’s right for your skin, and reminding young tweens like I was at one point that just covering the acne with makeup doesn’t make it go away!

#4 Nano portable hydrating mister- I first saw this on Instagram and have just become obsessed with this little gadget. It is more for dry skin I would think, but I am sure you could use it with oily skin if you just use water, and  I do have combo skin and you could even just fill it with water and spritz it everywhere if it’s hot out, or I could also see this being really great for airplane travel because your skin and everything can get SO DRY on a plane due to the lack of moisture in the air.

That’s everything on my list for now! Which product interested you the most, and what’s on your wish list this month?  Let me know in the comments! 😘

❀ Chic Couture β€

Let me tell you guys about a super cute clothing brand called Chic Couture! Already a sweet name, right? Well if you take a look at their website, they have even sweeter clothes and deals that are perfect for everyday, or that special day coming up- Valentine’s Day! β€πŸ’•

Keep reading until the end for a fab deal!

The first piece I wanted to show you is what really drew me into the brand, this luxurious velvet dress 😍 it comes in pink or red and just screams glam. It’s prefect for a night out, special occasions, or just everyday wear for hanging out and looking chic! I would pair this look with a cute diamond choker and thigh high boots, or cute, fluffy sandals. Of course, if heels are not your thing plain or sparkly flats would look just as sweet. For the colder season a cute faux fur jacket or simple cardigan would pair nicely with these. Or, for a bit of an edge you could wear a black leather jacket over with some booties. πŸ’• These lovely dresses are $32 each and along with everything else, can be found in the link to the shop below!

The next item is this sexy, dramatic high-low top for $20. This stylish too can be worn with shorts as shown and again, I would pair it with thigh high boots, or nice jeans with any shoe of choice and some delicate jewelry. The look is great for all ages and would look flattering on anyone! You could go so many different directions with this look, you could belt it at the middle to accentuate your waist, or leave it loose and free with some skinny jeans for a more casual look.

The final item which is great for January/February is this adorable beanie! I purchased this item a year or so ago and it is so comfy and soft. I love the little touch of suede with their signature C.C. on the brim. Whether your style is girly and glam, or nice and casual this accessory is a staple for your wardrobe especially in the cold months. (I know it isn’t cold EVERYWHERE right now, but it can stay chilly for awhile throughout the next few months, even transitioning into the springtime.) πŸ’• Style tip? or more of a fun fact about Stylshorty, I love to wear beanies at night because it just adds to warmth and coziness when I want to be all comfy- these are prefect for itπŸ’• Thought they couldn’t get any cuter? Me too, until I saw time with wait for it….fur pom poms! Anyone who knows me knows that I am on love with the faux fur trend right now and these just add to the major cuteness factor of these hats! They are $15 without the pom pom and $20 with!

My Style + Fashion Inspirations! πŸ’—

Hello lovelies! I thought I would do a post on who and what inspires me style-wise. There are so many different and beautiful unique styles out there and you do not have to stick to one, or be an exact replica. That’s what’s so great about fashion, you get to pick and choose what you like and what makes you feel good as you express yourself with clothing, accessories, and beauty!

Going into my overall style, I would say mine is quite girly and classy mixing with the modern trends of today including styles seen on Instagram and various youtubers πŸ’• Aside from bigger icons such as Audrey Hepburn, I’ll be discussing more of my modern day ones.πŸ’• My first style icon is YouTuber, Gabi Demartino and I have mentioned both her and my next style icon in a previous post. I started watching Gabi just a few years ago and immediately fell in love with her girly and vintage vibes. There was a long period of time for me where I didn’t wear what I really wanted to because of the people I was around. They though pink was, “gross” and being girly was stupid. Luckily for me I’ve since then dropped those friends due to a lot of that negativity. πŸ’•Style tip/Life tip: your true friends will only help you with your style, they will not bash on your it because it’s different from theirs. πŸ’•  Back to my inspiration from Gabi, I loved all of the different pastel colors she chooses to wear along with nuetrals and fur. She also loves to incorporate either higher end or vintage pieces into everyday wear which I think is just fabulous! I’ve always loved vinatge clothing, but couldn’t find ways to make them work in my day to day outfits until I came across her videos. Gabi shows off a very girly, chic, and vintage style which has definitely translated to mine.

Her YouTube channels are NikiandGabi and FancyVlogsbyGab.

Her Insta is simply @Gabi

My second style icon is Amber Scholl. I just recently came across Amber’s videos and she shows you how to look glamorous on a budget, Amber’s wardrobe is very chic and a bit more modern than Gabi’s. She is constantly sparkling with bling galore and rhinestones everywhere! Her wardrobe is heavily influenced by today’s trends on social media and I think she rocks it! She has a lot of videos on websites which have dupes for designer pieces and just cute clothing for a better price in general. It’s really helpful as someone who currently can’t spend a lot of money on clothes but wants to look like a million bucks. Her closet is full of mainly neutrals, a few colors here and there, and a sprinkle of metallics throughout her wardrobe to shine even more. This YouTube stars shoe collection is to die for and Style tip from Amber Scholl- πŸ’• a great shoe collection can help any wordrobe πŸ’•

Amber’s Channel is AmberScholl
