Maybelline The Blushed Nudes Palette Review!

I first saw the Maybelline Blushed Nudes palette and kind of laughed at the clever name. Then, I took a look at it and soon realized that it looked like a dupe of the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette. So, because I already have a naked palette and these colors looked nice I thought I’d try this one out and save an extra $30 for the next Naked palette, because we all knew that of course there would be a next one- it has recently come out, the “Smoky”
palette.I purchased the palette from my local grocery store which also sells some cosmetics and immediately searched for tutorials. One beauty guru whom I admire in particular came up and I instantly clicked on her tutorial, it was Alisonlovesjb. I have been a fan of her for years and while I loved her take on the Blushed Nudes, she also had some helpful tips. One of them that really stuck with me was that when using a lighter, more shimmery shade in the top section to use a patting technique rather than a sweeping motion so that you get a more pigmented look from those shades. I found this very helpful as I first used it and she was correct that the top shades are extremely sheer at first, so you do want to build them up a bit on the brush and use the patting technique. Of course, if you are not really one for tutorials then you can always look on the back and find some simple ideas and instructions showing you which colors would look best together. My personal favorite color combinations are the light pink and grey colors, being on the top section of the palette in the very middle next to each other, pink going on first and more towards the brow in the crease, and grey going on the lid just bye the lash line. This combo is subtle, yet still sweet and girly. Another one that is a bit more colorful is a combination of the very last two colors on the bottom section of the palette all the way to the right hand corner. I would describe these two colors as a dark rose gold and the last being somewhat of a light burgundy/brown. The rose gold color going on first and the burgundy/brown color going on last. This combo is really fun and playful and is a bit of a twist on the classic smokey eye. It’s perfect for a night out or a party!

Overall, I am very impressed with this product, another Maybelline favorite.
